In the North part of Bali you find a beautiful place named Lovina Beach, with amazing beaches, friendly people and an increasing number of expatriates enjoying this laid back part of Bali where prices are still very low, compared to Bali's southern areas.
It's the quiet food revolution that is one of the most surprising things in Lovina. A handful of interesting restaurants have opened in the area [both in and outside hotels] in the recent years, and now the industry professionals are taking notice and moving in.
The latest addition to the Lovina dining scene, is the totally renovated Bar-Bistro-Brasserie
Kwizien [that is right, it is 'cuisine' but spelled so everyone can pronounce it]. Since April 2007 Kwizien is owned by us, Gonda and Rick Anjes. We run a very clean and professional operation, following our experiences and success with a cafe and bistro in the Netherlands.
We have totally renovated the already popular Kwizien restaurant to create a different ambiance and a cosy atmosphere. For lunch and dining we have chosen different menu's. We have a wide price range and a well balanced menu with a nice wine list. Combined with good quality of service by trained [by the new restaurant manager Mr. Surya Ida Bagus well known in the restaurant business for a long time in Bali] young smiling staff who actually know what they are doing.
For the lunch we serve luxe sandwiches, such as baguettes with Norwegian smoked salmon, and a range of tasty salads. For evening dining steaks remain one of the main attractions at Kwizien, this time served on wooden plates, typical for a Bistro. We will change the main courses every month, providing something new every time you visit us. All the main courses at Kwizien are served with our home made, crunchy and crispy, French fries. Our seafood choices include calamaris and grilled king prawns.
